Gaza Crisis: “Unimaginable” Suffering

Israeli forces killed at least 73 Palestinians in Gaza within 24 hours, including 19 civilians seeking aid near the Zikim crossing. Survivors described chaotic scenes of gunfire and desperation, with one man saying, “A piece of bread can now cost your life”.

Starvation Fatalities Rise Two more deaths, a six-year-old child and a 30-year-old man were confirmed due to malnutrition. Gaza’s Health Ministry reports 227 starvation-related deaths, over 100 of them children.

A joint statement from the EU and 26 nations (including the UK, France, Canada, Australia, and Japan) condemned the “unimaginable levels” of suffering and called for urgent action to halt and reverse famine. They denounced the use of lethal force at food distribution sites and demanded protection of humanitarian space.

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, a U.S.-backed aid distributor, has become a flashpoint. Over 1,838 aid seekers have reportedly died since its operations began in May.
