More than 62,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since Israel launched its military campaign in October 2023. The death toll includes thousands who died from starvation, as aid access remains severely restricted.
Current Assaults:
Israel is intensifying attacks on Gaza City, aiming to seize the territory’s largest urban center.
26 Palestinians were killed on Monday alone, including 14 aid seekers targeted while waiting for food in the Zikim area.
Heavy artillery, drones, and fighter jets are being used to flatten residential zones, turning neighborhoods into rubble.
Forced Displacement:
Tens of thousands are being pushed toward “concentration zones” in southern Gaza.
Many displaced families are on the move again, some for the third or fourth time.
Others remain trapped, unable to afford relocation. One man told Al Jazeera, “I need nearly $900 to move – I don’t even have a dollar.”
Humanitarian Collapse:
Gaza City’s remaining healthcare centers are under attack.
Survivors are sheltering in ruins, tents, or makeshift camps.
Trust in Israeli promises of aid and safety is low, with many fearing further violence.
Al Jazeera’s correspondent reports that Israel’s military strategy is reshaping Gaza’s geography and demography, ensuring ground control by erasing residential infrastructure.
