On July 23, 2025, Al Jazeera reported a deepening humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, where 10 more Palestinians died of starvation, bringing the total malnutrition-related death toll to 111 since the war began in October 2023.
At least 21 children under five have died from malnutrition this year, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
WHO and other agencies report no food deliveries for nearly 80 days between March and May. Current aid levels remain critically insufficient.

Israeli forces have reportedly shot hundreds of Palestinians near aid points since May, turning food access into a life-threatening ordeal.
Gaza’s hospitals are overwhelmed, functioning as trauma wards, with healthcare workers fainting from hunger while treating patients.
Two more Palestinian journalists were killed in Israeli strikes, raising the media death toll to 231.
