U.S. forces carried out fresh airstrikes on Iran’s Qeshm Island, targeting suspected missile launch sites. The Pentagon stated the operation was in direct response to Iranian attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain, where missiles and drones struck near U.S. bases and oil facilities.
Tehran denied responsibility for the Gulf strikes but warned Washington against “crossing red lines,” vowing retaliation if Iranian territory continues to be hit. Gulf officials confirmed that air defenses intercepted several projectiles, though damage was reported at logistics hubs in Kuwait.
The escalation underscores the widening scope of the conflict: U.S. strikes now penetrating deeper into Iranian territory, while Gulf allies face spillover attacks. Analysts caution that the dual pressure, direct confrontation with Iran and destabilization of regional partners — could severely impact energy security and shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz.
