Israel-Gaza Conflict – July 18 Update

Israeli tank fire struck Gaza’s only Catholic church, killing three civilians and injuring at least 10 others.

The victims were sheltering at the Holy Family Church, which had been serving as a refuge for displaced families.

Israel acknowledged the strike and expressed “deep regret”, but international condemnation is mounting.

Continued Bombardment

Since dawn on Thursday, at least 56 Palestinians were killed in Israeli air and ground attacks across Gaza.

Strikes targeted Khan Younis, Gaza City, and central refugee camps, with dozens of casualties reported at aid distribution points.

Gaza’s Health Ministry reports:

In Israel, 1,139 people were killed during the initial Hamas-led attacks, with over 200 hostages still unaccounted for.

Regional Spillover,

Israeli airstrikes also hit Suwayda, Syria, despite ceasefire efforts between Druze and Bedouin factions.

Syrian state media accuses Israel of sabotaging peace efforts and escalating regional tensions.
