On the Ground in Gaza:
Israeli air and ground forces intensified attacks on Gaza City, killing at least 15 people in the city and two others elsewhere.
Massive plumes of smoke and drone surveillance have been reported, with thousands displaced.
The death toll since October 2023 has reached 65,344, with 166,795 wounded. Thousands remain buried under rubble.
Trump’s Diplomatic Initiative:
President Donald Trump is set to meet leaders from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Türkiye, Indonesia, and Pakistan.
The White House confirmed Trump will present a post-war governance and peace proposal for Gaza.
The summit follows recent recognitions of Palestinian statehood by France, UK, Canada, Australia, Portugal, and Saudi Arabia.
International Response:
Canada, France, Germany, and others urged Israel to reopen medical corridors to the West Bank for Gaza patients.
European Council President Antonio Costa stated that while not all EU members recognize Palestine, the bloc is united in supporting a two-state solution.
