At a major security forum in Beijing, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin presented a unified front advocating for a “multipolar world order.” Both leaders criticized Western dominance and emphasized the need for global governance structures that reflect the interests of emerging powers.
Xi called for “fairer and more equitable” international rules, while Putin echoed support for China’s Belt and Road Initiative and condemned Western sanctions as tools of coercion. The forum, attended by officials from over 90 countries, showcased deepening Sino-Russian ties amid rising tensions with the West.
The event also highlighted shared strategic goals: resisting U.S. influence, promoting regional security frameworks outside NATO, and expanding cooperation in energy, defense, and technology.
